Spices Park is a well-conceived approach to empower the farmers to establish direct market linkage with exporters so as to get better price for their produce. The objective of the Spices Park is to provide common infrastructure facilities for processing, value addition and storage of spices to the farming community in the growing regions. The Spices Parks will facilitate the farmers to utilize the common infrastructure facilities for cleaning, grading and packing so as to ensure better quality of the product and thereby help them to fetch a better price.
Spices Board has established a Spices Park at Guntur in an area of 125 Acres of land allotted in Mydavolu & Vankayalapadu village in Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh, with the objective to create facilities for value chain development and to establish market linkages to ensure remunerative price to chilli farmers. The park was inaugurated during April 2015. The Spices Park in Guntur is established at a total expenditure of Rs.19.50 crore. The AP State ASIDE has provided a financial support of around Rs.11.60 crore for establishing the Spices Park project at Guntur. The Spices Board spent Rs.7.90 crores from its budget. The Board has established a full line chilli processing facility, storage area for raw materials and finished goods godowns and other basic common facilities like road, drain, uninterrupted power and water supply, firefighting facility etc.

The Board had established all basic common infrastructure facilities in the Park in addition to the processing facilities for the Spices like Chilli. The details of the common infrastructure and processing facilities established in the park are as follows

Association with Private Entrepreneurs
As part of the commitment to encourage the local trading community to Spice export business, the Board had developed plots in the park to lease out to the private entrepreneurs in that locality to establish price processing unit and their by encourage them to Spice export. The Board has divided the total area of 93.42 acres into 58 plots, out of which 49 plots have been allotted to 18 entrepreneurs for establishment of private processing units. Out of which 5 entrepreneurs have completed the establishment and started functioning and 7 entrepreneurs have started construction of their processing unit.

Current Status
The Board had allotted land to 18 exporters entrepreneurs for establishing their own processing units in the Park. Out of which 5 entrepreneurs has completed the establishment and started functioning and 7 entrepreneurs has started the construction of their processing unit. The common processing facility established by the Board is functioning through the operator M/s.BOS Naturals. The tenure of the existing operation will be expire during November 2021. The Board is in the process of identifying a new operator for operation of Common Processing Unit at Guntur.
M/s. AP State Warehousing Corporation (APSWC) has established 2 Cold storages having a total storage capacity of 13000 MT and a warehouse with a storage capacity of 10000 MT covering 16 plots allotted to them in the park, at a total outlay Rs.60 crore. The APSWC has leased out the two cold storage facilities to two Private Entrepreneurs for operation and is directly operating the warehouse and fully functioning.
M/s. Quality Industries, M/s Raami Agro Traders, M/s Spice Exim M/s ITC Ltd, leading exporters of spices, have commenced the construction of their spice processing unit in the 3 plots allotted to them in the park, at an estimated outlay of Rs.120 crores.
