Sustainability in Spice Sector through Progressive, Innovative and Collaborative Interventions for Export Development (SPICED)
Spices Board scheme titled ‘Sustainability in Spice Sector through Progressive, Innovative and Collaborative Interventions for Export Development (SPICED)’, which was approved by for implementation during the 15th Finance Commission Cycle (till FY2025-26) has been extended upto 30th September 2026 or until the date of approval of the proposed scheme for the 16th Finance Commission Cycle, whichever is earlier
The SPICED scheme aims at expanding area and improving productivity of Cardamom (small & large), generating an exportable surplus of quality spices through post-harvest improvement, export promotion of spices, increasing the share of value-added spices in the export basket, evaluating compliance of export consignments with applicable standards of quality and safety, capacity building & skill development of stakeholders etc. The guidelines for implementation of the SPICED scheme can be accessed from the link given below.
Implementation of the various components/ programmes under the SPICED scheme, for FY 2026-27, will be through online mode, through the links given below. The submission of application will start on 1st July 2026..
All the exporters, farmers, FPOs and other stakeholders of the spices sector are requested to peruse the guidelines before submitting the online application
Export Development and Promotion Programs (Last date for submission of application – 31st August 2026)
- For availing assistance under various Export Development and Promotion programs, stakeholders may apply using the GMS - Exporters Module
Development Programs (Last date for submission of application – 31st August 2026)
- For availing assistance under development programs such as :
- QGBG - Setting up of Post-Harvest Machines;
- Seed Spice Thresher
- Pepper Thresher
- Turmeric Boiler
- Spices Polishers
- Mint Distillation Units
- FPO/QGBG - Processing and Value Addition
The farmers / FPOs may apply using the Service Plus module
- Spices Board Regional / Divisional / Field office will assist the stakeholder in submitting the applications, for availing assistance under the following programs ;
- Improving productivity of small and large cardamom
- Post-harvest improvement and quality upgradation of spices
- Spice cleaner grader, spice washing equipment, spice slicing machine, spice dehullers, spice driers, improved curing devices for small and large cardamom, large cardamom driers,
- Promoting exportable surplus of GI and other spices from NE, organic certification, on-farm production of composts, assistance for ICS groups and care & cure centres for FPO.
